  24 Multiscreen Applications Workshop at the 11th European Interactive TV Conference (EuroITV 2013) Starts: 12:00 am Ends: June 25, 2013 - 12:00 am Location: Como, Italy Description: the 11th European Interactive TV Conference (EuroITV 2013), in Como, Italy, on June 24th, 2013. The workshop aims at facilitating exchanges around Multiscreen applications, creating a community of interested parties, from the TV industry, from the mobile world, from the Internet, and is relevant to application developers and designers, human computer interface specialists, platform developers, TV channels, standard gurus, etc., for the purpose of developing common interests, for example to create a W3C Community Group around MultiScreen Apps. Beyond silos that penalize the domain of multiscreen with extreme business restrictions, there is a need for open standards and platforms, as well as matching production tools. But even in the W3C, the picture is unclear about which set of standards is the best bet. So this workshop intends to bring some issues in focus: • Issues and bottlenecks: usability, synchronization (media and/or application), content creation including debug, content adaptation to device size and input methods… • Standards: W3C (WebIntents, Network Service Discovery, Sysapps), HbbTV, ETSI, … • Platforms: (closed/native) iOS, Android, (open/web based) webinos, Coltram, … • Authoring/production tools: few existing tools if any, what is needed ? • Deployments and real-life experiences, including new innovative usages of the second screen. This workshop aims at facilitating exchanges around Multiscreen applications, creating a community of interested parties, from the TV industry, from the mobile world, from the Internet, and is relevant to application developers and designers, human computer interface specialists, platform developers, TV channels, standard gurus, etc, for the purpose of developing common interests, for example to create a W3C Community Group around MultiScreen Apps. Attendance is not limited to contribution presenters, but submitting a written contribution is highly recommended, in one of the forms described below. ========================== Submissions ========================== High quality submissions are solicited from all academic, scientific and industrial participants interested in the future of multiscreen applications and in discussing how they can be brought about on a research, development and commercialization level. We invite all contributions which address any of the below topics, or other topics considered as important by the authors to the goals of the workshop: • Multiscreen issues and bottlenecks; • Multiscreen-related standards; • Multiscreen platforms; • Multiscreen apps development and production tools; • Multiscreen deployments and real-life experiences; • Business models for multiscreen applications; • Security issues with multiscreen apps. We encourage various types of submission: • full papers (max 12 pages) for mature work which has been subject to evaluation and whose results have been made public / commercialised, or • short papers (max 6 pages), for significant work in progress, late breaking results or ideas / challenges for the domain, as well as • demo submissions (max 2 pages describing the planned demo), for software and platforms which may be able to support a part of the imaginable linkedTV ecosystem. Accepted full papers will be presented at length during the workshop, while accepted short papers will be allocated a shorter speaking slot and/or a place in a dedicated poster & demo session (depending on time available). Accepted demos will be included in the dedicated poster & demo session in the workshop. Submissions must be in PDF and must be submitted using easychair. Submissions must be formatted in the style of the Springer Publications format for Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS).
